Our client, a boutique family law firm in Tampa, is seeking a Legal Assistant to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, organized, and team-focused professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to become an integral part of a collaborative practice.


Family law experience is strongly preferred. However, the firm may consider a legal assistant from another practice area who has extensive law firm scheduling experience, is well versed in Florida e-filing, and is comfortable communicating with judges’ chambers, court personnel, opposing counsel, and other parties to coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, and case-related deadlines.


The selected candidate must be comfortable working fully onsite and becoming immersed in the day-to-day operations of the practice. Some hybrid or remote flexibility may become available after approximately six months to one year, depending on performance and the needs of the team.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, and case-related scheduling

  • Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings with judges’ chambers, court personnel, opposing counsel, and clients

  • Handle Florida state court e-filing

  • Assist with the preparation, organization, and management of discovery

  • Draft, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence

  • Provide trial preparation support

  • Monitor court procedures, rules, and filing requirements

  • Provide general legal administrative support as needed

Qualifications:

  • Prior family law experience is strongly preferred, including out-of-state family law experience

  • Candidates without family law experience may be considered if they have substantial legal assistant experience involving complex scheduling and coordination

  • Strong knowledge of Florida e-filing procedures

  • Experience communicating professionally with courts, judges’ chambers, opposing counsel, and clients

  • Experience assisting with discovery and trial preparation is preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office

  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to assist wherever needed
