Job Description:
Intellectual Property/Commercial Litigation/E-Discovery Paralegal

The Firm is currently seeking qualified candidates for a paralegal to work in the Intellectual Property & Technology and Commercial Litigation departments in the firm.
Responsibilities:
Intellectual Property:
Patent and trademark prosecution support, including electronic filing of US and international applications and responses, and handling the general prosecution timeline for each.
Preparing and filing IDSs, assignments, prior art, and other support documents.
Daily maintenance and operation of docketing system including the docketing of all prosecution and due dates for all patents and trademark annuities and maintenance filings; maintaining and generating docket reports for attorneys.
Support attorneys during patent and trademark litigation by drafting pleadings, locating case law, and preparing exhibits; conduct discovery and correspond with experts and other witnesses.
Communicate with clients, vendors, USPTO personnel, foreign associates, court personnel, experts, attorneys, and others as needed. Assist attorneys with the preparation of legal documents.
Some administrative support, i.e., vendor invoices, billing
Commercial Litigation:
Assist attorneys with the preparation of legal documents.
Maintenance of case files, organization, collection, processing and production of documents, drafting, filing, cite-checking, analysis, and work with outside vendors.
Coordinate with attorneys regarding deadlines and preparation for trials.
E-Discovery:
Oversee E-Discovery, including data collection, processing, review and productions (training will be provided).
Upon the completion of training, assist commercial litigation (and, at times, other departments) with their E-Discovery needs, including administration of the firm’s document review platform and general assistance with litigation support.
Requirements:
1 to 5 years of paralegal experience supporting intellectual property and/or commercial litigation attorneys in a law firm environment.
Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment with a variety of attorneys and support staff.
Strong knowledge of Federal and Florida state court rules.
Experience in a mid- to large-size firm preferred.
Experience with document review platforms (i.e., Xera, Concordance) is desired.
Experience with a document management system and time entry system
BA/BS preferred, but not required
