Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Junior Paralegal with civil litigation experience or a strong interest in family law. This position requires a candidate with empathy and compassion to guide clients through life's most challenging moments. Candidates without family law experience that have litigation experience but a genuine interest in learning the practice are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Assist with managing cases, scheduling, court appearance and filings of family law matters, particularly divorce, alimony and child custody cases.
Draft and e-file all relevant legal documents in a timely manner.
Drafting petitions, motions, settlement agreements and judgments.
Preparation of financial affidavits, mandatory disclosure, equitable distribution worksheets and child support guidelines.
Extensive client communications.
Scheduling hearings, mediation and depositions.
Preparation of exhibits and trial notebooks
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in civil litigation, family law experience is a plus.
Team oriented with the ability to work independently and stay organized.
Ability to respond quickly and operate calmly and effectively in high-pressure and fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Family Law Software, Adobe and Outlook
