Zerega Consulting has been exclusively retained to recruit an Associate General Counsel for a highly successful, privately owned real estate investment company. Reporting directly to the General Counsel and executive leadership, this is a rare opportunity to join a financially strong, growth-oriented organization in a highly visible role.


The Opportunity

The Associate General Counsel will support a broad range of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and complex commercial agreements. This role extends well beyond traditional legal work, offering direct exposure to executive leadership, meaningful involvement in strategic business initiatives, and the opportunity to help shape the continued growth of the legal department.


What You'll Do

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, lease amendments, and other real estate agreements.

  • Structure and negotiate acquisitions, dispositions, financing transactions, loan documentation, and related commercial real estate matters.

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, and other complex commercial contracts.

  • Conduct legal due diligence for sophisticated commercial real estate transactions.

  • Advise executive leadership on legal, transactional, and strategic business matters.

  • Manage outside counsel across a variety of legal matters.

  • Assist in developing legal processes, policies, and infrastructure to support the company's continued growth.

  • Serve as a trusted legal and business partner across the organization.

What We're Looking For

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

  • Approximately 3–7 years of commercial real estate transactional experience.

  • Experience with commercial leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, commercial finance, loan documentation, and related transactional matters.

  • Must be admitted to practice in the state of Florida

  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with executives and business leaders.
