Our client, a well respected full-service law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their Insurance Coverage & Defense Practice Group. In this role, you will defend insurers and other commercial clients on various insurance defense matters, including general liability, professional liability, products liability, environmental liability, toxic tort and asbestos litigation, construction and labor law cases, transportation, and primary and excess coverage counseling and litigation.

Responsibilities 

• Manage cases from filing through trial. 

• Conduct extensive legal research associated with cases, as well as draft legal documents such as briefs, pleadings and discovery requests. 

• Communicate with clients, partners and other members of the practice group regarding case developments. 

• Attend and defend depositions, as well as appear at court hearings.  

Requirements 

• 3-15 years of litigation experience, specifically insurance defense litigation. 

• Experience in handling complex litigation matters in state and federal courts. 

• Strong legal research, drafting, and document review skills. 

• Proficiency in providing legal advice and client support. 

• Must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. 

• Must be licensed to practice in New York. 

• Bar admission to the State of New Jersey is a plus. 

• Able to work productively both independently and in a collaborative environment.

• Organized, detail-oriented, and self-starter.
